Bringing you our most beautiful house plaque range.

Yakisugi (Shou - Sugi - Ban) Shou sugi ban is an ancient Japanese carbonized wood finish created by burning the surface of wood to preserve it. The final product is also known as Yakisugi (yaki means to cook/burn and sugi is the Japanese name for cedar), but shou-sugi-ban seems to have won as the most commonly used term in English, and it is sometimes simply known as a carbonized wood finish.

We have been taught the technique and have applied it to our range.

The charred larch then gets oiled with Osmo Uv cedar oil to give a brilliant warm colour and helps the dark charred grain show through. You wont believe the look of the wood after the procedure.

We then chamfer the larch on the belt sander to give a more clean and finished look. We use black and rose gold with this range as we feel it is the best combination but more than happy to try other colours if the client wishes.

The process also adds years of durability to the plaque and we are very confident that they will last an extremely long time.
